After teaching for 44 years in the Archdiocese of Hartford, 43 of those years at St. Thomas School or Southington Catholic School, I have decided that it is time for me to retire and spend more time with my family especially watching my grandchildren grow.
My greatest achievement will always be all of my students and especially the students that have consistently gone on to achieve top scores on standardized tests and won awards for their work in math and science.
My best experiences were always talking to students that have graduated our school and hearing of the progress and awards they have gone on to attain in their educational and life pursuits. I have always taken pride in the number of students that have gone on to become math teachers, engineers, and pursued other math and science related careers.
It is certainly a most bittersweet time for me. I truly love teaching and love having the opportunity to watch children grow and mature to adulthood. I thank those of you that have allowed me to work with your children.
While I am looking forward to retirement I will also truly miss the day to day life that goes on at Southington Catholic School and I will forever cherish the memories. I have been most fortunate to work with a great group of students, fine teachers, staff, and supportive parents and clergy. I have always appreciated working in the Southington Catholic School or St. Thomas School Christian caring environment. Students, families, administration, and the Southington community in general have always been supportive of my work, activities, and professional development and I owe them a debt of gratitude.
I wish to thank everyone for their kind wishes and gifts. I was overwhelmed by the expressions of love and gratitude shown to me at my retirement party on June 16.
I hope to see Southington Catholic School growing and thriving in the future.
It is with both sadness and anticipation of the next stage of my life that I leave all of you.
The Southington Catholic/ St. Thomas community will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I have been truly blessed to serve in such a wonderful environment.
After school middle school math help ended on May 17.
